I am an ecologist interested in biodiversity of all creatures, both small and large, and both aquatic and terrestrial. My particular foci are patterns in species, functional and phylogenetic diversity, and mechanisms structuring regional faunas and floras, metacommunities and local communities. I also aim to combine basic ecological information and applied issues, such as conservation and environmental assessment. There is a strong aspect of statistical modelling involved in my case studies, and hence I am keen to follow latest developments in biostatistics.
